Leaving aside the second title which we will talk about later, Devil May Cry 1 and Devil May Cry 3 remain enjoyable even in 2018, even after playing Platinum Games titles. Being a remaster and not a remake, no one asked Capcom the impossible, no one asked the company to make Devil May Cry 2 a masterpiece, but a few small additions to make the titles more enjoyable more than 15 years later would certainly have been appreciated.įortunately, the extremely negative balance so far clears up when we are able to talk about the impact that titles can have on players after 2 generations. Some of these non-remastered aspects are indeed even evidently worse than their Playstation 2 counterparts, due to warped images in some videos and an aliasing effect that spoils the colors. The presentation of the levels is certainly very pleasant and can boast a granite framerate, but the laziness demonstrated from Capcom in every other sector makes it difficult to justify the price of this renewed edition. So you have videos in very low resolution CGI, video in game graphics with horizontal black bands and even Menus in 4: 3 with resolution from PlayStation 2. Anything other than the level of play itself has been left as it was in the original titles.
